As a member of the 1976 inaugural Seahawks roster, Smith had 119 carries for 537 yards and 4 touchdowns in the team’s first season. He became the first Seahawk to rush for over 100 yards in a game when he ran for 124 yards against the Atlanta Falcons on November 7th, 1976. He totaled 28 rushing touchdowns with the Seahawks, including a career-high 11 in 1979, and he led the team in rushing in his first four seasons. He also totaled 10 receiving touchdowns, with a career-high 4 in the 1979 season. Smith was the Seahawks’ running backs coach in the 2009-2016 seasons.
