The 2011 induction banquet will take place in the Birmingham Ballroom at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel, on Saturday, May 21. Born August 30, 1977 in Florence, Kentucky, Alexander played collegiately at the University of Alabama. He was given a good chance by the experts to secure the Heisman Trophy, but the prospect vanished when he sustained a sprained ankle against arch rival Tennessee. Five Seahawks players from past and present are among the 53 players announced as members of the NFL's All-Decade team. Shaun Alexander, Steve Hutchinson, Edgerrin James, Walter Jones and Kevin Mawae make up the Seattle contingent.
