One of the original Seahawks, Sammy was a linebacker for the team from 1976-1979. He scored his only career touchdown in 1979 on a 91-yard interception return in a game at San Francisco, helping the Seahawks to a 35-24 win. He concluded his NFL career with the Houston Oilers in 1980, and went on to become a teacher in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Green was in Seattle on September 10 & 11 to take part in the "Patera Era Weekend," honoring his former coach, Jack Patera.
