Seahawks Legends Deion Branch and Mike Tice are among a number of NFL Legends participating in the upcoming NFL Alumni Pro Day Experience.  The event, held in six cities around the U.S., puts players ages 13 to 18 years old through the same drills individual college athletes go through in the NFL Combine, and coach them to reach peak performance in those events. A Visit with Mike Tice

Tice was a tight end with the Seahawks for 10 seasons (1981-1988, 1990-1991). After retiring from the NFL as a player following his 3 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings (1992-1995), he would go on to join the Vikings as an assistant coach, and was ultimately elevated to head coach in 2002. He remained head coach through the 2005 season before moving on to become an assistant with the Chicago Bears (2010-2012), Atlanta Falcons (2014) and Oakland Raiders (2015-2017).

Alumni Assistant Coaches on the Move in 2012

Keeping tabs on former Seahawks players who are now in the coaching ranks, and former Seahawks assistant coaches on the move in 2012. Mike Tice (Seahawks TE - 1981-1988) has been promoted to offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, replacing Mike Martz. Tice had served as the offensive line coach for the Bears since the 2009 season, and has been with the organization since 2006.   Pete Metzelaars (Seahawks TE - 1982-84) joins the Buffalo Bills staff full time as the tight ends coach. One of the original players from the Seahawks' inaugural season has returned to the fold, and several former assistant coaches have found new positions in and out of the NFL. Sherman Smith has joined head coach Pete Carroll's staff as running backs coach for the Seahawks. Smith was drafted in the second round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the Seahawks as a running back, the first offensive player picked by the new expansion team in its first season. Smith led the team in rushing in his first four seasons, eventually amassing 3,429 yards and 28 touchdowns in his seven years (1976-82) with the team.
