Former Seahawks safety Ken Hamlin will be inducted this September as a member of the 2017 class of the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor. Hamlin finished his career as the Raxorback’s record holder in tackles, despite playing only three seasons from 2000-2002. He racked up 381 career tackles before entering the 2003 NFL Draft following his junior year. In his final collegiate season, he earned first-team All-America honors from CollegeFootballNews.com, and first-team All-SEC recognition from the Associated Press, SEC Coaches and Sporting News after he recorded 159 tackles, the second-highest single-season total in school ...
A Visit with Ken Hamlin
As a safety for the Seahawks over four seasons (2003-2006), Hamlin made an immediate impact in his very first career start when he knocked the helmet off Saints wide receiver Donte Stallworth in a hit at home against New Orleans. Nicknamed "The Hammer," Hamlin amassed 15 interceptions and five quarterback sacks over his NFL career. He would go on to play for the Dallas Cowboys (2007-2009), Baltimore Ravens (2010), and Indianapolis Colts (2010) before retiring. Today he resides in Houston and works in sports broadcasting.
