Congratulations to Seahawks Legend Bobby Joe Edmonds, who will be inducted into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame on May 31, 2018. Edmonds is a 1982 graduate of Lutheran High School North in St. Louis, Missouri. The Crusaders football program has produced eight athletes, besides Edmonds, who have gone on to play in the NFL, including famed Denver Broncos safety Steve Atwater (Crusaders class of 1984). After playing football as a running back at the University of Arkansas, Edmonds was taken by the Seahawks in the 1986 NFL Draft, where he would play in the 1986-1988 seasons. A Visit with Bobby Joe Edmonds

Although drafted by the Seahawks as a running back, Edmonds saw duty as a punt returner for the team over 3 seasons (1986-1988). He returned a punt 75 yards for his lone career touchdown in his rookie season, and he still holds 1 Seahawks team punt return record: most punt yards gained in a season (419 yards in 1986). He was also an AFC Pro Bowl selection in 1986. Edmonds would go on to play 1 season with the LA Raiders (1989), and was out of football for a few years before returning in 1995 to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He then retired from the NFL.
