southcarolinahof_logo175Congratulations to Seahawks Legends wide receiver Sidney Rice, who was inducted into the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame on October 20, 2016.

As a redshirt freshman at South Carolina in 2005, Rice had 70 catches for 1,143 yards (14th all time in SEC history) and 13 touchdowns, a single season receiving record for the Gamecocks. He was also a first-team All-SEC receiver and earned Freshman All-America honors that same year.

In 2006 Rice caught 72 passes for 1,090 yards and 10 touchdowns, including five touchdowns against Florida Atlantic, breaking a school record and tying an SEC record for most receiving touchdowns in a single game.

Rice was taken by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft, where he played four seasons (2007-2010) before joining the Seahawks in 2011. He missed most of the 2013 season with a torn ACL, and officially retired in 2014.
