Thomas was a second round draft pick (51st overall) by the Seahawks in 1991. He played in 39 games for the team over 3 seasons (1991-93), including appearances in all 16 games in 1993. That was also his best year statistically, as he recorded 11 receptions for 95 yards.

A standout football and track athlete at Clemson, Thomas played on two ACC Championship football teams (1987 and 1988), and six ACC Championship men’s track teams.
