The Seahawks have added another assistant to their coaching staff, naming Devin Fitzsimmons the team's new assistant special teams coach.

Fitzsimmons will give the Seahawks substantial NFL special teams coaching experience while working with Jay Harbaugh, who will be an NFL special teams coordinator for the first time. Harbaugh has plenty of experience as a coordinator, having been Michigan's special teams coordinator for the past five seasons, but he noted that it will be beneficial to add the NFL knowledge of Fitzsimmons, who has nine years of NFL experience coaching in Carolina, Arizona, Detroit and Indianapolis, most recently holding the title of assistant special teams coach with the Panthers in 2023.

"Our assistant, Devin Fitzsimmons, who just came aboard, he has about 10 years in the league, and is super experienced, crazy smart, awesome football coach," Harbaugh said Thursday. "Really thankful to have him aboard to be able to help in that transition."
