Over 330 benefactors joined in the promise to end breast cancer forever by raising more than $720,000 at the annual Komen Puget Sound Affiliate Grace Notes gala held at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Jacob Green was in the spotlight as a 2010 Honoree, and was joined by Elisabeth James, who has raised more than $2.1 million for Komen Puget Sound.

As a creative example of grassroots fundraising, Jacob and Elisabeth each year team up and grill a feast extraordinaire, raising funds to provide breast cancer screening and treatment support for under served women and their families living in the Puget Sound area. Both personally impacted by the devastation of cancer, they donate their time, treasures and talents to forwarding the Komen vision of a world without breast cancer. Over the past four years, they have helped raise over $330,000.

In 1987, Jacob held his first Jacob Green Charity Golf Classic in honor of his late father, Jacob Carl Green Sr. The tournament, now in its 23rd year, has raised millions of dollars for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

A number of big ticket items were up for auction, including a trip to the 2011 Super Bowl offered by Tod Leiweke, CEO Vulcan Sports and Entertainment, and Jacob’s famous BBQ party brought enthusiastic bidding, generating $82,000 for the cure.
