DarrylTapp300_1107Former Seahawks defensive lineman (2006-2009) Darryl Tapp, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, didn’t play in the Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints on November 5 because he had something more important to do: attend the birth of his first child.

Darryl was at the hospital instead with his wife, Tiffany, welcoming daughter Taylor Nicole into the world (6 lbs, 15 ounces). The Eagles told Tapp he had their blessing to put family first.

“This is my family too, but Coach (Andy) Reid definitely sent me away,” said Tapp. “He said, ‘You’ve got to take care of this. This is your first one.’ I was happy to go, but I definitely missed being out there with the guys.”

Tiffany and Darryl were married at Disney World in February, 2010.

Darryl was drafted by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Tiffany is a physical fitness competitor who competes nationally across the country.
