Introducing David and Chanyn Kirtman

Congratulations to David Kirtman (Seahawks 2006-07) and his new bride Chanyn, who were married on July 17, 2010, in Redmond, WA.

The couple first met at Joey’s Lounge in Bellevue, WA, and…well, David continues with the story:

“Chanyn and I met for the first time in January 2007,” says David. “When we first met, Chanyn was playing hard to get, but I wouldn’t give up. After harassing her for a week we finally went out on a date, and from that moment forward we haven’t wanted to spend a single moment without each other. We have spent many weeks apart due to my working career, and every moment spent away from each other feels like an eternity.

“We are embarking on a journey to Tokyo together as husband and wife, and I know whatever challenges we face will be easily overcome because we will be together. Nothing else matters than that fact; we are one, and forever we will be together.”

David’s new bride provides her own take on how their relationship developed.

“After just a few dates with David I knew we would be everlasting friends,” says Chanyn. “We would spend hours laughing, cracking each other up and quickly became best friends. Our date nights went from romantic dinners out, to pizza at the house and us practicing the moonwalk from YouTube demonstration videos. In all seriousness, it was through that friendship we fell in love.

“We have spent many weeks apart in the past few years. One year David moved three times while playing in the NFL; however we were still able to make each other feel as if the other one was right there (thanks to Skype and an amazing Verizon Wireless phone plan with unlimited text messaging!). I can’t wait to embark on this journey to Tokyo with my husband. I know we will do great in Japan, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us.”
