In addition to being the very first quarterback for the Seahawks, Jim Zorn has also been an assistant coach and a head coach in the NFL. On January 19, Zorn will serve as head coach for Team Mauka (Mountain) in the 2019 Polynesian Bowl.

The Polynesian Bowl is a premier football all-star game that features a selection of the nation’s top 100 high school players, and Zorn is looking forward to the challenge.

“It’s going to be an incredible experience to coach the nation’s top players in paradise,” said Zorn. “It doesn’t get much better than football in Hawaii.”

His football resume includes 16 years as an NFL assistant coach (Seahawks: 1997, 2001-2007) and 2 years as head coach of the Washington Redskins.

Zorn will be facing Team Makai (Ocean), coached by Mike Bellotti, the winningest football coach in Oregon history and a College Football Hall of Fame inductee.

The game will be held on Saturday, January 19, at Aloha Stadium on Oahu, and will be carried live at 4:00 pm PT on the CBS Sports Network.

Also on tap is the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend, which features 2 Seahawks Legends in the 2019 class: Dan Saleaumua (DT, 1997-1998), and Mosiula Mea’alofa “Lofa” Tatupu (LB, 2005-2010). Joining them is Marques Tuiasosopo, the son of Seahawks Legend Manu Tuiasosopo, who was also a member of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
