Taken by the Seahawks as the third overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft, Springs would play for seven seasons in Seattle. As a cornerback, he racked up seven interceptions and two defensive touchdowns in his second season, and was rewarded with a selection to the Pro Bowl. He would go on to play for the Washington Redskins (2004-2008) before retiring with the New England Patriots in 2009. Today he heads the Shawn Springs Foundation, based in Virginia.
