The 10th overall pick in the 1980 NFL Draft, Green played defensive end for the team for 12 seasons. He was twice selected to the Pro Bowl (1986 & 1987), and was number three all-time in the NFL in recorded sacks at the time of his retirement.

Green entered the Seahawks Ring of Honor in 1995. He now works in fund raising for Texas A&M, and also heads up his annual Jacob Green Celebrity Golf Tournament in the Seattle area, benefitting the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
