Make that four retired numbers now in the Seahawks all-time annals. At halftime of the Seahawks-Patriots game on October 14 at CenturyLink Field, the Seahawks bestowed a rare honor by retiring Cortez Kennedy’s #96 jersey number. Cortez joins fellow Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent (No. 80), offensive tackle Walter Jones (No. 71) and the 12th Man (No. 12) as the only numbers to be retired by the Seahawks.

“It’s a great honor to have my jersey retired with two great NFL football players: Steve Largent and Walter Jones, and the 12th Man,” said Kennedy. “God bless America, and God bless the Seahawks.”

The Seattle City Council also proclaimed Sunday, October 14 as “Cortez Kennedy Day” in Seattle.
