2018 Taste of the Seahawks
As part of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge, the 2018 edition of the Taste of the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field was another great success. Over the last six seasons, the Seattle team has won the Challenge four times, providing $770,000 for Food Lifeline and Ben's Fund. Several Seahawks Legends were on hand to help support the cause.
A Visit with Dwayne Harper
Harper was a cornerback for the Seahawks for six seasons (1988-1993), compiling 13 interceptions over that span. He scored his lone NFL touchdown off a fumble return in the 1992 season against the Philadelphia Eagles. Harper went on to play five seasons (1994-1998) with the San Diego Chargers, and appeared in Super Bowl XXIX with the Chargers. He would go on to play in three games with the Detroit Lions in 1999.
A Visit with Jon Borchardt
Borchardt played six seasons with the Buffalo Bills (1979-1984) - under then-head coach Chuck Knox through the 1982 season. Later, as head coach of the Seahawks, Knox brought him to Seattle in 1985. He played three seasons (1985-1987) at guard with the Seahawks before retiring from the NFL.
A Visit with Steve Niehaus
Niehaus has the distinction of being the first-ever NFL Draft pick by the Seahawks. Taken as the #2 pick out of Notre Dame in the first round of the 1976 draft, Niehaus would go on to play three seasons with the Seahawks before a shoulder injury cut short his NFL career. He was the 1976 NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, and he holds the Seahawks team rookie record for sacks in a season with 9.5.
