Meet Edwin Bailey’s Best Man

As a special education teacher at Mount Rainier High School, Seahawks Legends guard Edwin Bailey struck up a friendship with student Tyler Earnest. Tyler would go on to be the best man at Edwin's wedding, an event he remembers quite vividly: "I remember him wheeling me up and saying, 'Let's do this, okay? We've got to be quiet now!'" They both were among the celebrities at the 2018 Jacob Green Celebrity Golf Classic.

RIP Former Head Trainer Jim Whitesel

The Seahawks mourn the passing of former head team trainer Jim Whitesel, who died of cancer on August 9. He was 70. Whitesel was an assistant trainer for the Seahawks over the first seven years of the team's history before becoming the head trainer in 1983, a position he held through the 1998 season. "It was a dream come true; it's all I ever wanted to do as an athletic trainer is work at this level," Whitesel recalled about his career with the Seahawks. Legends & Seahawks Make-A-Wish Day

A number of Legends were on hand for Seahawks Make-A-Wish Day on August 7, 2018, at CenturyLink Field. As part of the special day, the Make-A-Wish kids put on their own Seahawks jerseys in the locker room before being introduced on the stadium PA and running out the tunnel onto the field. The Legends played catch with them, signed autographs and posed for pictures too.

A Visit with Gregg Smith

Smith was the assistant head coach for the Seahawks during the Dennis Erickson era: 1995-1998. He was also the tight ends coach his first two years, and coached the offensive line the following two years. Smith was also part of Erickson's coaching staff at the University of Miami when the Hurricanes won two national championships, as well as with Erickson while with the San Francisco 49ers. Altogether, Smith was a part of Erickson's coaching staffs for 28 years.
