Former University of Idaho football great Sam Merriman will be inducted into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame, as part of the 56th North Idaho Sports Award Banquet. The event will be held on April 14, at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn. Merriman played linebacker his first two seasons under coach Jerry Davitch, and his final two under (future Seahawks head coach) Dennis Erickson. Seahawks Legend quarterback Seneca Wallace will open his first Wingstop restaurant in Ames, Iowa, this month, with a second location following this summer in Des Moines. The Ames Wingstop is owned and operated by Wallace, a former star quarterback for Iowa State University, who went on to achieve success as a professional quarterback for the Seahawks (2003-2009).
