Jon Kitna Named Football Coach at Lincoln High School

Former Seahawks quarterback Jon Kitna was a three-sport athlete at Tacoma's Lincoln High School, playing football, basketball and baseball before graduating in 1991. And on January 26, 2012, he returned to his alma matar as the school's new football coach. Kitna, who retired on January 12 after a 15-year career as an NFL quarterback, including four years (1997-2000) with the Seahawks, returned to Lincoln earlier in the week as a part-time math teacher. Remembering Doug Long

January 25, 2012 By Bill Boehlke The Seahawks mourn the passing of Doug Long, who played for Seattle in 1977 and 1978. Long died late last week after a long and courageous battle with cancer. As a defensive back and special teams player for the Seahawks, Long was given the game ball for his efforts during Seattle's 27-7 win over the Oakland Raiders on October 22, 1978. Long was a two-time All-American at Whitworth in 1975-76, and was inducted into the Whitworth Heritage Gallery Hall of Fame in 1995.
