Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Welcomes Larry Peccatiello

Former Seahawks defensive coordinator Larry Peccatiello is among the eight candidates to be inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2010. Peccatiello was linebackers coach for the Seahawks in their inaugural 1976-77 season. In their second season, Seattle’s defense recorded 39 takeaways (2.8 per game) and held opposing quarterbacks to a 66.6 rating. Four Alumni Inducted into 2009 College Football Hall of Fame

Four Seahawks alumni were among a total of 16 players and two coaches who were inducted into the 2009 College Football Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 8, at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. Gordon Hudson, Gino Torretta, Grant Wistrom and Curt Warner are the four former Seahawks players who received the honors. December 7, 2009 By Bill Boehlke Three Seahawks alumni are among the 25 semifinalists being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010. Cortez Kennedy, John Randle and Jerry Rice are among the modern era semifinalists for the Canton, Ohio shrine. The Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee chose the 25 semifinalists from the list of 131 preliminary nominees. Each of the remaining 25 nominees on the Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee’s list of nominees has been a semifinalist at least once prior to this year.
